What is a fan-subscription platform?
A service where creators provide exclusive content and fans pay a monthly subscription fee to access it. OnlyFans, Patreon and Fantrie are prime examples.
Which platform is best?
It depends on your goal. For a global target, OnlyFans/Fansly; for a Korean target, Fantrie; for pure creative work, Patreon/Postype. See the platform comparison page.
Is it only adult content?
No. It's famous for adult content, but many general-content creators are also active in fitness, cooking, music, webtoons and more.
Payments
My Korean card won't work on OnlyFans.
Korean cards are often blocked. Check for a card that allows overseas payments, use a VPN, or consider issuing an international card like Payoneer/Wise.
How does the charge appear on my statement?
Most show the platform name (OnlyFans, Fansly, etc.) as-is. Some platforms may bill under a different name.
Are refunds possible?
Most platforms don't allow refunds due to the nature of digital content. Check free content or a preview before subscribing.
I want to cancel auto-renewal.
You can cancel auto-renewal under each platform's Settings > Manage subscription. Even after canceling, you can use it until the paid period ends.
Creators
What do I need to start as a creator?
An ID (adult verification), an email, and an account/PayPal to receive payouts. Verification differs per platform, so check each platform's guide.
How much are the fees?
It varies by platform. OnlyFans/Fansly 20%, Patreon 5-12%, Fantrie 10-20%, Ko-fi 0% (free plan), and so on.
How do I get paid out?
It depends on the platform. Overseas platforms support PayPal, Payoneer, bank transfer, etc., while local platforms pay out to a local account.
How do I report taxes?
Platform earnings must be reported as income. Overseas earnings are treated as foreign-currency income. Consulting a tax accountant is recommended.
Do I have to show my face?
It's not required. Many creators work with their face hidden. That said, showing your face can help you gain fans.
Safety/security
I'm worried my personal info will leak.
Your real name isn't disclosed on the platform. Still, be careful not to share personal information separately. Using a nickname and a separate email is recommended.
What if my content is illegally distributed?
You can file a DMCA report with each platform or request removal from the site in question. Legal action is also possible.
Can minors not use it?
Platforms with adult content are for those 18 and older only. Adult verification is also required when signing up as a creator.
